Chinese Learning Videos for Kids
Da jia Hao! Hello Everyone! I am Miss Suzy. I started making these Chinese youtube learning videos for my preschoolers when we had to stay home because of the coronavirus. Then, I realized there are children all over the world that are joining in and learning with us! It is magical to all be united in our efforts to learn Mandarin together. I try to make these videos appropriate to the learning style of young kids and preschoolers by using puppets, songs, rhymes and stories. I hope you enjoy and your little one decides to join in the Chinese learning fun!
Kids Love Learning Chinese Stories and Songs!

Toys like this are SO HARD TO COME BY! It is the perfect baby and toddler toy for practicing Chinese! This is an interactive, electronic book that has Chinese words and audio available at the touch of your child’s finger. It has the songs and basic vocabulary words in Mandarin! I’m so grateful and excited that I found this!! Get it right away!
If you’re ready to start working on Chinese reading with your little one, but you’re not sure which words to start with, these can be very helpful. The pre-made cards have visuals, example sentences and can be easily sorted into ones that your child already knows and ones that you’ll work on later.
This is definitely one of my top recommendations. Kids love music and don’t even realize they are learning! The Chinese Nursery Rhymes I share in my YouTube videos are from this book. It comes with an audio CD and the Chinese Nursery Rhymes are written in Chinese, Pinyin (pronunciation) and translated into English.
This is a fantastic book in both English and Chinese! I have a YouTube video of me reading this book and your child would have fun “reading” the book with me or on their own. The phrases are repetitive, so it’s easier for kids to remember and repeat or “read” the book.
The series of Mina books are wonderful for bilingual learning or children and parents learning Chinese as a second language because they are written in English and Chinese with Pinyin pronunciation!
Gordon and Lili books are unique in the Chinese world because Michele Wong McSween has taken the Chinese words and written them in Pinyin as well as a more English-intuitive phonetic pronunciation so parents without any Chinese experience can better pronounce the Chinese!
If you’re a non-Chinese speaking parent, it can be tough to expose Children to language and literature at a young age. This book has audio buttons so kids can easily hear the songs and follow along in Chinese! Books like this are hard to come by in America!
I am SO EXCITED to start using this book with my preschool students. It has creative and memorable ways to practice writing Chinese strokes and characters!
The Montessori method of teaching uses sandpaper/tactile cards to help students remember letters. These follow the same method of teaching, but rather than alphabet letters, they use Chinese strokes and radicals.
This is another Chinese childrens book with audio support. Exposing children to literature such as nursery rhymes in the target language has long lasting positive effects on language learning.
